Our commitment to your privacy
Warmly Labs LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) builds Warmly SAT Prep to help students prepare for the SAT in a calm, consistent way. We take the privacy of students and families seriously.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Warmly SAT Prep collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you. By using Warmly SAT Prep, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Privacy policy details
Who can use Warmly SAT Prep (13+)
Warmly SAT Prep is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We require users to confirm that they are 13 or older when creating or continuing an account. Warmly SAT Prep is not directed to children under 13.
We store only the fact that you confirmed eligibility and the date and time of that confirmation. We do not ask for or store a date of birth. If you tell us you are under 13, we do not allow continued use of the app. If you believe an account was created by someone under 13, email us and we will remove it.
Information we collect
Account information. Your email address, a display name, and a password you set (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider). We also store your 13+ eligibility confirmation and the date and time you made it.
Practice and progress data. Questions shown, answers you submit, whether an answer was correct, explanations you view, questions you skip or report, points, streaks, levels, skill-area estimates, and daily session history.
Practice scratchpad content. Notes, math keypad entries, and drawings you create in the in-app scratchpad are saved to your account so your work is there when you come back. This content is yours; it is not shown to sponsors and is not used for advertising.
Groups and supporters. Group names, memberships, invitations, group activity you generate, and supporter (parent, teacher, or mentor) connections you choose to create.
Notification data. Your reminder preferences and timezone, and — if you enable push notifications on iOS — a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push token issued to your app installation by Google. The FCM token is a device identifier used solely to deliver notifications you asked for. Disabling push notifications or deleting your account removes it.
Support communications. If you email us, we receive your message, your email address, and anything you choose to include.
Technical and security information. IP address, device type, operating system version, app version, timestamps, and similar ordinary server and security log information generated when your device contacts our servers. We use these logs to operate the service, prevent abuse, and investigate security issues.
Crash and error diagnostics. If the app hits an error, we receive the error message, the stack trace, and the in-app screen path. We deliberately strip authentication tokens, passwords, email addresses, and URL query strings from these reports, and we do not include your answers, question content, or scratchpad content.
We do not collect phone numbers. An earlier SMS reminder feature was removed, and all phone numbers previously stored for it have been permanently deleted from our systems.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to deliver daily practice sessions, generate progress information and recommendations, save your scratchpad work, maintain rewards and streaks, enable group leaderboards and supporter features, deliver notifications and reminders you have turned on, respond to support requests, keep the service secure and reliable, and improve the app.
Sponsored questions
Some practice questions may be sponsored by a school, nonprofit, or other organization. Sponsored questions are clearly labeled in the app and are held to the same educational standards as the rest of our question bank.
When a sponsored question is shown, we record interaction events tied to your account: that the question was shown, whether you answered it, whether the answer was correct, whether you skipped it, whether you viewed the explanation, and whether you reported it. We use these records to display and operate sponsored content, to measure how sponsored questions perform, and to produce reports for the sponsor. Because this measurement supports a third party's content, we disclose it to Apple as advertising-related measurement and analytics.
Sponsors receive aggregate, non-identifiable reporting only — counts and rates such as impressions, answer rate, accuracy, skips, and explanation views, plus a count of unique students. Sponsors never receive your name, email address, user ID, individual answers, or any other information that identifies you. Aggregate figures are additionally suppressed until at least ten unique students have interacted with a campaign, so small groups cannot be singled out.
We do not combine this information with data from other companies' apps or websites, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' products.
Emails and push notifications
Essential messages. Some messages are required to operate your account: email verification, password resets, security notices, account-deletion confirmations, and other essential service notices. These are part of the app's core functionality and cannot be turned off while your account exists.
Optional reminders. Daily practice reminders, streak comeback messages, and similar re-engagement emails and push notifications are optional and encourage you to keep practicing. Because their purpose is to bring you back to the app, we disclose them to Apple as developer marketing communications. You can turn optional reminders off at any time in Profile → Notifications, or by using the unsubscribe link in any reminder email. Turning off optional reminders never turns off essential account and security messages.
Push notification delivery. iOS push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service using the push token described above. We send only the notification content needed for the reminder or group-activity message.
How we share information
We share information only in limited circumstances: with service providers who host and operate the app on our behalf (our cloud database and authentication provider, our email delivery provider, and Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging for push delivery), under confidentiality obligations; with sponsors in aggregate, non-identifiable form as described above; when required by law; or to protect the safety and rights of our users.
We do not sell personal information. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not share information with advertising networks or data brokers.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within Warmly SAT Prep by going to Profile → Account → Delete account and confirming with “DELETE.” Account deletion is immediate and removes your account, practice history, progress, points, streaks, scratchpad content, push tokens, group memberships, and supporter connections.
A small number of anonymized operational records and email-suppression records may be retained as needed for legal, security, or anti-abuse purposes. These retained records are not linked to your identity and cannot be used to restore your account.
Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove identifiable data promptly in accordance with the deletion process described above.
Ordinary server and security logs, including IP addresses, are retained by our infrastructure providers for a short operational window (generally up to 90 days) and are then discarded. Crash and error diagnostics are retained for up to 90 days and are used only to fix problems in the app — never for advertising, marketing, or tracking. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for product improvement.
Your choices
You can review and update account information in the app settings. You can turn optional reminder emails and push notifications on or off at any time without affecting essential account and security messages. You can report a question, including a sponsored question, directly from the practice screen. You can delete your account permanently at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account.
Children’s privacy
Warmly SAT Prep is intended for users who are at least 13 years old and is not directed to children under 13. We require an eligibility confirmation at sign-up and for existing accounts, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the app or by email before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
